Welcome to Austin360 Sessions! It’s a new in-house music video series which features bands performing live in our studio at the Austin American-Statesman. Emilie Clepper & The Coyotes joined us between their SXSW gigs to perform “Dirt and Bones”, a song off their new EP that’s coming out April 20th. The band is from Austin and is made up of musicians with plenty of familiarity to the local music scene, but this is their first time playing SXSW together. Playing during the festival is a benefit for them, Clepper said, because with all the people from out of town, it’s an opportunity to reach a different audience.
“Austin becomes a big city for a week,” said bassist Collin Shook.
Accordion player/guitarist Pete Weiss agrees. “People love to hate on it (SXSW), but it’s definitely still an exciting time.”
If you want to catch Emilie Clepper & The Coyotes this week, they’re playing tomorrow at White Horse at 6:15pm. Or check out www.emilieclepper.com for a list of other upcoming shows.
