Swans at the Parish. An enduring presence on the New York noise scene since the early 1980s, Michael Gira’s band Swans has had occasional intersections with Austin musicians over the decades. McCallum High grad Jason Asnes ended up in the group for a brief period when he moved to New York in the late ’80s. In recent years, percussionist Thor Harris (Shearwater, Bill Callahan) has been part of a Swans lineup that surfaced in 2010 after more than a decade of hiatus; this version of the group has since released three albums. Fellow New Yorkers Little Annie & Paul Wallfisch open. $20. 8 p.m. doors. 214 E. Sixth St. theparishaustin.com.
