Lots of top local bands along with some touring acts are headed to the San Marcos River in late August for Float Fest, which combines live music, tubing and camping in one of Texas’ most unusual summer festivals.

The three-day event, based at the Cool River Ranch in San Marcos, runs Aug. 28-30 and features music from Ghostland Observatory, Wild Cub, Phantogram, Dr. Dog, Local Natives, Bright Light Social Hour, Robert Delong, Robert Ellis, Max Frost, Mute Math, Quiet Company, Bun B, Paul Wall, Sarah Jaffe, Youngblood Hawke, The Eastern Sea and others.

The full lineup and details on tickets, which run $50 (for music only) to $299 (for three-day VIP), are at floatfest.net.
