Hip-hop artist Jean Grae blew minds and shook bootys last year in a Weird City Hip-Hop Festival set that combined hard driving rhymes, hilarious banter and an uplifting dance party in one of the best shows of the year. This year, husband and wife duo Riders Against the Storm is bringing Grae back to headline their RAS Day event at Kenny Dorham’s Backyard on August 29.

RAS day launched last year with health and wellness workshops during the day and music at night.  The group described the event as a celebration of the ‘healing and the wonders of receiving.’ Once again the event will feature dance, massage and movement workshops from 3 to 6 p.m. followed by a killer eight band lineup kicking off at 6:30 p.m.

Early bird tickets to the event are only $10 (through Aug. 1). The price will be $15 at the gate. Kids 12 and under are free.

Music lineup includes:

Riders Against the Storm

Hardproof Afrobeat

Mindz of A Different Kind

Keyzstreet Band w/ Alesia Lani and Brenden Foster

Hatch

Lady Shacklin

La Vida Buena

Charlie Belle

This year’s event benefits E4Youth, a local non-profit that works to expose young people in Austin to the arts.
