Mac DeMarco at Stubb’s outdoor. The Canadian indie-rocker’s afternoon ACL Fest set last year found him alternating between easy banter with the crowd and flexing his formidable guitar skills. He’s been on a rapid rise since he released his debut full-length “Rock ‘n’ Roll Night Club” in 2012. He’s sold out shows at the Mohawk and the Scoot Inn, and now he’s graduated to the outdoor stage Stubb’s. (He’s sticking around for a 1 p.m. performance Wednesday at Waterloo Records.) $25-$28. 7 p.m. 801 Red River St. stubbsaustin.com. — D.S.S.

Also: Playing inside at Stubb’s after DeMarco are Richmond, Va., singer-songwriter Natalie Prass, touring behind her self-titled Columbia Records debut, and Nashville band Promised Land Sound. … Three original members, including frontman Ali Campbell, recently rebooted the British reggae band UB40, who play the Long Center. … Pennsylvania indie-rockers the Districts play the Parish with Sun Club. … Former Follow For Now frontman David Ryan Harris stops in at Empire. … Will Sexton has spent more time in Tennessee since marrying Memphis bassist Amy LaVere, but the two will bring their Motel Mirrors project with guitarist John Paul Keith to Strange Brew. … Singer-songwriters Sunny Sweeney & Brennen Leigh continue a string of third-Tuesday collaborative shows at the Saxon Pub.
