Erin Ivey at Iron Cactus North. Back in early 2013, Ivey helped to launch this weekly series presented by St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church when she played a three-week run, after fellow local artist Wendy Colonna had kicked it off. Ivey has returned every fall and spring to play the series again, so it’s fitting that she’ll be on stage when “Soul of a Musician” celebrates its 100th installment. Though it’s sponsored by a church, the series is a secular affair. But the artists are encouraged to dig a little deeper and share some of the personal motivations behind their songs. Free. 6:30 p.m. 10001 N. Stonelake Blvd. stmattsaustin.org.

Also: Songwriters Troy Campbell and Mike Meadows curate a “House of Songs” bill at the Townsend. … That daredevil Danglin’ Wrangler himself, Tex Thomas, plays a noon show at Guero’s Oak Garden. … Other daytime options include Casper Rawls’ “Planet Casper” show at 3:30 at the Continental Club, Sally Crewe and Rite Flyers at 4 p.m. at Hole in the Wall, and Conjunto Los Pinkys at 5 p.m. at the White Horse.
