Update: SXSW has announced X Ambassadors, the rockers from Ithaca, N.Y., behind the radio hit “Renegades,” will also headline a showcase at Stubb’s on March 19. The festival says supporting acts will be released later.

Earlier: As we creep closer to South by Southwest a few more prominent names are starting to appear in the band drops. This week’s includes Canadian electro duo (and original vowel haters) MSTRKRFT, Minneapolis alt-rockers Soul Asylum and Chicago mashup masters the Hood Internet. Also representing the Windy City at the fest will be rapidly rising R&B artist BJ the Chicago Kid. Houston rapper Doughbeezy and Virginia singer/rapper D.R.A.M. have also been added along with DJ Jazzy Jeff, who we noticed slip in earlier this week.  LaFayette, Lousiana indie pop outfit Givers and Baltimore’s Wye Oak are also coming to town for the March madness. Our favorite Delta blues singer from Oakland, Fantastic Negrito will also return to the fest this year.

International artists include Bahrain’s Cosmo and Capsula from Buenos Aires, Argentina, who will be performing a Bowie tribute.
Representing the home team we have rockers the Bad Lovers and Eve and the Exiles, hip-hop producer Eric Dingus presenting TSO,  rapper Tank Washington, indie rock outfit the Sour Notes and folk rock standout Ruby Jane & the Reckless. Prolific local composer Graham Reynolds will also appear at the fest as Pancho Villa From a Safe Distance.
