The Austin show of the tour will be at the Austin 360 Amphitheater at Circuit of the Americas on Saturday, September 9. The only other Texas locations so far are a Sept. 7 show in Sugar Land and a Sept. 8 show in Grand Prairie.

The last time Simpson was in Austin, he put on a pair of ACL Live shows in May, where he played “Sailor’s Guide” in its entirety. He also played ACL Fest in 2015.

Other locations include New York’s Radio City Music Hall, Colorado’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre and L.A.’s Greek Theatre and headline slots at Louisville’s Forecastle Festival and Birmingham’s Sloss Music & Arts Festival.

Tickets for the Austin 360 Amphitheater Show go on sale Thursday, February 16 at 10 a.m. and start at $29.50 for general admission lawn tickets. Tickets can be bought here.

Simpson planned to take 2017 off after releasing “Sailor’s Guide” last spring. He wasn’t even planning on playing the Grammys at first, since his wife is due with the couple’s second child any day now.

But after the success of “Sailor’s Guide,” he said he should probably start to tour some more to get his name out there.

“But it might be a good idea to go play some shows again, I don’t know, given how many millions of people are saying, ‘Who the [expletive] is Sturgill Simpson?’ as of this morning,” Simpson told the New York Times the day of the Grammys announcement.
