Tickets for Garth Brooks’ free show at the South by Southwest outdoor stage at Auditorium Shores were claimed minutes after becoming available Friday, leaving thousands of fans of the country music legend disappointed. But there is one way you can still get tickets (outside of having a SXSW badge or wristband): Craigslist.
In the least surprising turn of events ever, people looking to make a buck off the free show went straight to Craiglist to hock their free tickets for a profit. The most ridiculous price listed? A thousand big ones.
In all fairness, most of the people selling their tickets have them priced relatively reasonably: On one post, $80 for one ticket and $150 for a pair; on others, $100 per ticket. Compare that to Brooks’ regular tour prices: His upcoming shows with his wife Trisha Yearwood in Lubbock list tickets at about $75 apiece, and upcoming shows in Philadelphia list tickets at about $65.
