Weekend picks: It’s fest season! Pecan St., IHeartCountry and Jmblya

Saturday-Sunday: 40th annual Pecan Street Festival on East Sixth Street. For four decades, the downtown art bash has been transforming the Sixth Street Entertainment District into a bustling street fair twice a year. The celebratory spring edition features three stages of free music, showcasing a range of Austin’s top talent representing everything from hip-hop to hard rock. Saturday highlights include Riders Against the Storm, My Jerusalem, Residual Kid, Ringo Deathstarr and recent Austin360 artist of the month My Education. Sunday includes Annabelle Chairlegs, Eva Ybarra y su Conjunto Siempre, La Vida Buena and Christina Cavazos. Music runs from noon to 10 p.m. daily. pecanstreetfestival.org— D.S.S.

Saturday: iHeartCountry Fest at Erwin Center. Now four years running, this smorgasboard evening marathon concert regularly features many of the most-played acts on mainstream country radio. This year’s lineup includes Jason Aldean, Little Big Town, Dierks Bentley, Brantley Gilbert, Rascal Flatts, Old Dominion, Jake Owen, Darius Rucker, Lady Antebellum, Kelsea Ballerini and the Raging Idiots. A new addition in 2016 that returns this year is a free afternoon “Daytime Village” show on the Erwin Center’s north box office plaza from 2:30 p.m. to 6 p.m., with a half-dozen country upstarts including Jon Pardi. $25-$400. 7 p.m. 1701 Red River St. uterwincenter.com. — P.B.

Saturday: Jmblya at Circuit of the Americas. The biggest turn up in Central Texas gets even bigger with a move to the racetrack. This year’s stacked lineup is led by Chance the Rapper who just scored a Grammy with an uplifting blend of hip-hop, gospel and soul. From the other end of the rap spectrum, trap pioneer Gucci Mane also gets top billing and red hot trap stars Migos and Lil Uzi Vert will also put in sets. DJ Steve Aoki will play electro house. Rapidly rising Latina rapper Snow tha Product and soulful rapper Pell help round out a very strong undercard. $99 (adv.), Gates at 1 p.m. jmblya.com— D.S.S.

Saturday: Jackalope Brothers Band reunion at Broken Spoke. Separately, Kimmie Rhodes and Bobby Earl Smith have been a part of a lot of great Austin music over the decades. Rhodes has released several albums of her own, some with a guy named Willie Nelson singing on them, and Smith was a key member of Marcia Ball’s storied 1970s group Freda & the Firedogs as well as Alvin Crow’s Pleasant Valley Boys. For awhile during the 1980s, the two teamed up in the Jackalope Brothers, and they’re reviving that partnership for this one-off. Joining them will be former Jackalopes guitarist John X. Reed and pianist Ron Howard, along with guitarist Gabe Rhodes (Kimmie’s son), bassist Eric Smith and drummer Freddie Krc. Also getting in on the act is Jolie Goodnight, daughter of Kimmie and the late Joe Gracey, who nowadays pays tribute to the group with occasional Jolie & the Jackalopes shows. $15. 9 p.m. 3201 S. Lamar Blvd. brokenspokeaustintx.net. — P.B.
