If you’ve been eyeballing the Austin City Limits Festival schedule, but you’re not ready to commit to a day-long adventure in audio exploration, you might be in luck. Festival organizers have just announced this year’s after shows. It’s a solid lineup featuring appearances by many top festival acts.
Tickets go on sale Friday at 10 a.m., but if you’re really dying to see one of these shows, it’s worth signing up for the C3 Concerts E-List for access Thursday at 10 a.m. Many of these shows will sell out swiftly.
Highlights include Stubb’s appearances by Ryan Adams, Portugal the Man, Run the Jewels. Portugal the Man and Spoon will also play the big stage and duo Oh Wonder plays the annual Waller Creek Conservancy benefit. Over at Emo’s, Bonobo, Crystal Castles and Tove Lo are among the artists who will play, as well as hometown heroes the Black Angels, who dropped the very solid album “Death Song” earlier this year.
The Mohawk features avant jazz experimentalists Badbadnotgood and Car Seat Headrest. Jazz/funk innovator Thundercat and sincere indie dude James Vincent McMorrow will play the Scoot Inn.
Of the smaller shows, steamy R&B singer, Nick Hakim, wistful sister trio Joseph and Songhoy Blues, the endless inspiring desert blues crew from Mali, will all easily sell out Antone’s, and that Stubb’s indoors show with this year’s NPR Tiny Desk Contest winner Tank and the Bangas is sure to be delightful.
