City music office to host a conversation with Scoremore founder Sascha Stone Guttfreund

Earlier this year, we wrote about University of Texas grad, Sascha Stone Guttfreund, who has been quietly expanding the company he and Claire Bogle started when he was a hot-shot sophomore into one of the most important and influential boutique event production and music promotion businesses in the country.

It’s a wild story about two kids with a vision who took a lot of risks, hustled hard and introduced Texas to a slew of artists who are today’s chart toppers, including Kendrick Lamar, Chance the Rapper and J.Cole. There were bumps along the way. The company lost over $150,000 on the first Jmblya and almost folded. These days, the hip-hop and dance music fest is their signature event, with a cult following that extends well beyond Texas.

The City of Austin music office will host an intimate conversation with Guttfreund on his experiences in the music industry — he also manages rapidly rising R&B/rap artist Tory Lanez — on Tuesday, September 26 at 7 p.m. at the Austin School of Film.

Admission to the event is free, but an RSVP is required.  More info.
