You know the drill. “Star Wars” theme, 11 a.m, and they’re off. On the second day of Austin City Limits Music Festival’s first weekend, the big decision might be easy to make: Do you see Chance the Rapper or Red Hot Chili Peppers?

Well, the latter band has a leg up if you’re looking to sync your music to your weather. By 11:30 a.m., temperatures were in the mid-80s, with a hot sun already beating down and causing festival attendees to break a sweat. It’s expected to be a clear day, but humid with highs in the upper 80s.

We were inside the festival when the gates opened and caught one couple who came to see RHCP, whom they’ve seen before. Watch our Facebook Live (scroll to the 2:30 mark):

Meanwhile, on the Lil’ Chano side of things, festival times call for desparate measures. Jon Harrison headed straight to the Honda stage, where the “Same Drugs” rapper will go on at 8 p.m. Harrison said he took an Uber from Houston just to get to ACL Fest. It cost about $200, he said, but after seeing Kendrick Lamar at last year’s fest, he had to make it back for Chance and Jay-Z.

Chance has “got this energy about him it’s infectious,” Harrison said. “You have to smile when you see him.”

Harrison, joined by about 12 other people at the at the Honda stage barricade at the beginning of the day, said he’s bummed to miss A$AP Ferg, but “it’s the price you pay for being front row.”

Elsewhere at Zilker Park, the first act of the day got the spirit moving to the few souls who had already made it in. Pastor Cedric B. West and the Electrifying Relatives were bringing James Brown stage-slides to the Tito’s Handmade Vodka tent.

“We gonna start this day off right,” West said. “Come on up to the stage, because we love ya.”

Who to see on Day 2 of ACL Fest? Our picks

Besides the two headliner acts, Saturday promises sexy, gives-no-effs pop from Tove Lo, Austin rock par excellence from Spoon, hip-hop throwback vibes from Ice Cube and electro-disco euphoria from Cut Copy. On Friday, ACL attendees got to see a cozy, moody love-fest from The XX; a weird encore from a too-short Jay-Z crowd-packer; a gorgeous meditation from his sister-in-law, Solange; a jukebox of hits from Ryan Adams; and all the Tom Petty covers you could want (including from Willie Nelson’s son, Lukas).

Have fun. And oh, say hi to Zoe if you see her.
