Austin singer-songwriter Patty Griffin will release “Servant of Love,” her ninth studio album, on Sept. 25 through her own label via Nashville company Thirty Tigers. She’s also booked to play the Paramount Theatre that week, on Sept. 23.
Tickets to the show go on sale June 26 at the Paramount’s box office and through austintheatre.org and c3concerts.com. Griffin made “Servant of Love” with longtime collaborator Craig Ross. A press release included the following description of the album: “In the vernacular of folk tales, blues cants, and jazz exploration, ‘Servant of Love’ creates of these seemingly disparate notions a larger narrative of the human place in nature, in society, and in time.”
Griffin is touring with gospel-soul singer Mavis Staples for most of July in the Midwest and West.
