Last month, the future of South by San Jose, a long-running unofficial South by Southwest event that’s become very popular with locals, hung in the balance when organizers were caught up in a permitting kerfuffle. Looks like everything was ironed out because SXSJ organizers announced the lineup for this year’s event in the Hotel San Jose parking lot today.

Highlights include performances from ’90s rockers Mercury Rev, Girl in a Coma front woman Nina Diaz and folk-rockers Thao and the Get Down Stay Down. Tuareg guitarist Bombino, L.A. rock outfit Chicano Batman, Fiery Furnaces front woman Eleanor Friedberger and Texas singer-songwriter Hayes Carll are also on the lineup alongside a cast of excellent local bands including Golden Dawn Arkestra, Sweet Spirit and the Bluebonnets.
