Weekend music picks: Legends, Legacies, Bazaar finale and more

Friday: Legends & Legacies Holiday Show at Continental Club. An annual event that plays off the city’s many musical family trees, this year’s version is specially designated as a benefit for participant Savannah Welch, who lost a leg in an accident last month. Her father Kevin and brother Dustin will join in, along with James and Curtis McMurtry, Jon Dee and William Harries Graham, Jimmie Dale and Colin Gilmore, Terry and Bale Allen, Warren and Marshall Hood, Charlie Sexton and more. $32. 9 p.m. 1315 S. Friday-Saturday: Armadillo Christmas Bazaar finale at Palmer Events Center. The coolest holiday music series in town wraps up with a bang on its final two days. Friday features western swing kingpins Asleep at the Wheel at 7 p.m., troubadour Jimmy LaFave at 3 p.m. and blues singer Shelley King at 11 a.m. On Saturday, folk duo Albert & Gage kick things off at 11 a.m., followed by drummer Ernie Durawa and friends at 3 p.m., before Americana guitar master Bill Kirchen closes down the bazaar starting at 7 p.m.. Saturday: Carson McHone’s fourth annual Xmas Eve Songwriters Night at the White Horse. Begun at the Saxon Pub in 2013, this homespun gathering is now in its second year at the east side’s venerable honky-tonk hangout. More than a dozen local performers will play two songs each, with participants including Suzanna Choffel, Graham Weber, Jaimee Harris, Leo Rondeau, Ali Holder and Tate Mayeux. Many will have CDs at the merch table, for your last-minute-gift convenience. Admission is free, with all band tips donated to the SIMS Foundation. 8 p.m. 500 Comal St. thewhitehorseaustin.com.
